Hopefully people read this at the right time of their lives. You are 'dead on'! That is why, now and after a life-time of making various mistakes, we started a business with three equal pillars, each doing what they are best at, each supporting the others. And it works. We thought we'd learned, but it still took several tries before we realized that it doesn't have to be a one-(wo)man show and that not all problems were really errors. Now we sleep like babies and, if there's a head-ache or hiccup, we deal with it before supper, never after. Best of luck. No - best of wisdom!

Amen, brother, thanks for saying it out loud!

As you know, I've been walking a transition adjacent to you. Ironically, I am working with small business owners more and more frequently, and I switched firms to First Financial Group to better serve them.

You are onto something and striking a nerve. Each business owner is in a different trap than another. Similar, but different enough that the solutions may vary. It's far more common for people to remain with the devil they know and avoid the devil they don't know. It's just not clear to them how a change will benefit them.

Clarity, then, is the key to unlocking that trap.

Great stuff, Matt!
